| I can't believe it. We have officially been home for 3 days now. A lot has happened in the last month, and we have been super busy. I must say, though, I am glad to be back and settling in again. Also, I must inform you all, I have been working on my My Space. I thought I'd never do it. First of all, I feel like I am too old for MySpace, but whatever. . . Anyway, I've plunged into the abyss. You can find me by searching for my full name. I think that it will help me stay in touch with everyone better. Esp. my younger, cooler siblings like Calie and Lauren! We are doing well here. The kids keep finding all of their "new" toys. The stuff they had here seems new again and they keep digging everything out. I have to tell them to clean their rooms constantly. In fact, I had better go back to cleaning up and putting things away. I'd rather play, but I don't want anyone to show up to the house that exploded! | | |
| I really don't know how to start this or what to say. Last Sunday (Father's Day), we got a phone call that said that Brian's dad was in a serious car accident. He was on his way to see his dad (Brian's grandpa) because he was scheduled to have surgery for colon cancer on Monday. We ended up leaving at 2:40 am Monday to go to KC. Monday was better. Tuesday was better. Then, very unexpectedly (even for the Drs.) he had a stroke in the middle of the night. It blocked his corroted artery, and there was no blood flow to the brain. As of 9:55 A.M. Wednesday he was declared brain dead. There was nothing left to do. We've cried so many tears that I think we've dried up inside. The visitation is tomorrow in Sioux City, and the funeral is Tuesday morning. I'd apprecate your prayers. On a lighter note, I have started a myspace. It's just under my name. No pics or anything yet, but at least I started it. . . | | |
| VBS is going well, but boy am I tired already. And Brian is doing all of the work! There were 270ish people there last night. I think there were somewhere around 160 kids. It is going to shape up to be quite a week. I take Chloe to the dentist today, and then Lance and I go on Thursday. Also, Brian and Trey go to the Doctor today. Why did we plan everything in the same week? | | |
| I am sitting patiently in the living room somehow connected to the church's wireless internet. This is the first time that I have been online in a very long time. I just don't know what to do with myself. I have noticed that being online is much more important to me when I am in Italy. I guess that it just helps me to feel more connected with you when I am there. Now, I feel like everyone is just a long drive away, you know. Anyway, VBS starts this Sunday. We are the missionaries for the VBS here in Rockford. I think that it will be a lot of fun. I am always a little unsure of myself, though. I am not the best with people shorter that 4 feet. The kiddos are very excited. Trey doesn't know what VBS is, so he is pretty excited to find out. | | |
| So, Brian takes the kids to the doctor the other day. It was Trey and Chloe's turn. Trey says to the doctor, "Doctor, Doctor, Doctor." And, finally the doctor says, "Yes, Trey." Trey says, "Am I crazy?" The doctor says that thats for your daddy to decide. A few minutes laterTrey says, "Doctor, Doctor, Doctor." The doctor says, "Yes, Trey." And Trey says, "I have a lot of gas." Brian said that the doctor laughed, but that his (Brian's) face definately turned a nice shade of red. | | |
